The Brussels School Group (Belgium, Europe) is made up of 100 schools and offices, over 27,000 students, and over 4,500 staff. This large and diverse group was interested in replacing their interactive displays and projectors with an ed tech solution that was not only state-of-the-art, but also easier to manage and service. They also were looking for an educational technology solution that sparked both teacher and student engagement and motivation.

A few years ago, some of their schools began to use the Clevertouch® IMPACT™ touchscreen displays – an initial ed tech investment of 75 displays. They were pleased to discover that the IMPACT displays resulted in a decrease of service requests and user questions; the displays helped both the teachers and IT services by not requiring much proving to be a true out-of-the-box solution.

Besides being impressed with the quality of the IMPACT displays and the decreased need for maintenance and service, the Brussels School Group appreciated the innovative features such as Clevershare, LYNX Whiteboard, and Snowflake:

  • Clevershare - This application lets users share what is on their devices such as a tablet (ex. iPad®), laptop, or PC to the IMPACT screen while still enabling the teacher to maintain control over what is shared. This increases active participation and collaboration for the whole class.

  • LYNX Whiteboard - This easy-to-use annotation and whiteboarding software allows teachers to create and deliver interactive lessons using content from a variety of sources, including the web. There are also a variety of tools that can boost active learning such as handwriting recognition, and math and science tools.

  • Snowflake – This educational software helps teachers create interactive lessons and tasks that saves them planning time so that they can work with students directly. Snowflake also allows teachers to divide the touchscreen into independent zones to further personalise instruction.

“We chose Clevertouch because it’s not just a touchscreen,” says Filip De Pril, Technical IT Coordinator for The Brussels School Group. “It’s an all-in-one solution and experience for all levels within our organisation. Clevertouch meets our expectations and via OTA (over-the-air) updates, also positively adapts its products based on feedback from teachers and IT staff.”
